As part of the MLA’s Intellectual Freedom Committee, Joe travels across Missouri offering workshops to libraries about how to contend with and fight back against challenges to collections. Teaching includes college experience courses, library use Instruction in 50-70 individual classes per academic year. Most commonly, college experience, english composition, sociology, psychology, business management, music literature, studio art and art history, biology, and ecology. These “one-shot” sessions typically include orientation with library research resources, particular academic skills and habits (e.g. Information Literacy, media literacy, citation).
